Article 1
Anatomy of Problem Solving
by Davis Goss
We all seem to have more problems than we need. We can resolve many of
them without any trouble, but once in a while a really difficult
situation comes along that just won't yield to our best efforts to get rid
of them.
Our initial reaction is to resist them, put up a protective wall and
confront it is an enemy with which we feel we must do battle. Now the
struggle begins. This confrontational approach to problem solving is
negative and can produce only negative results; we find ourselves producing
more frustration, anxiety, stress and fear than solutions.
Is there an alternative? Indeed there is. Let's take a close
analytical view of problem solving and see what's really going on here. To
be successful we must first accept the fact that the "old" ways are
less than effective so any new approach must be a departure from
accepted traditional methods.
Look at the world around you and recognize that we live in a world of
opposites. We have up & down, short & tall, assets & liabilities,
abundance & lack, profits & losses, positive & negative, freedom & bondage,
etc., etc., etc. I don't believe you can think of anything that does
not have an implied opposite. Webster defines "opposites" as,
"elements that are so far apart and diverse as to be totally
irreconcilable one to the other".
If, then, one of these elements is negative, defined by Webster as,
"something that is the opposite or negation of something", its
opposite must be positive, which Webster defines as, "that which is real,
not speculative, not fictitious and logically affirmative".
As we think about it, we realize that what this is saying is that
anything negative (the problem) cannot exist alone but requires a positive
something to be negative about. That positive "something" is the
solution to our problem. We cannot have a problem unless its solution is
already available. All we need do is learn how to access it.
To solve any problem, then, we must discipline ourselves to see it only
as a negation or un-awareness of the answer we are seeking and which
already exists. How do we access this? By calmly rejecting that which
presents itself to us as a problem, ("an intricate, unsettled
question without an answer" [Webster]) as not a "something" we give
reality to and quietly search our mind with a "listening" positive
expectancy and be responsive to the answer that will present itself to you
in this positive mental environment.
Consider the procedure you use when confronted with 2 plus 2 = 8. To
resolve this error, you do not focus your efforts on trying to
understand the "8" but you reject it and draw on the truth that only a
"4" belongs at the end of 2 plus 2. The problem is "solved".
I know how abstract, unrealistic and impractical this approach sounds,
but for many years I have proven its viability in my own personal and
professional experiences and to the benefit of a widely diverse client
base that has included many of the giants of American business. This
revolutionary approach to problem solving is predicated on natural laws
and principles which Webster defines as, "the creative and controlling
forces of the universe". Such a condition is absolute and
irrevocable. It is the law.
My book, "The Science of LIVING BETTER FOREVER", presents a
complete disclosure of this unique scientific approach and details a
no-nonsense continuity of facts, laws and principles that will resolve any
problem, regardless of its nature or apparent severity, with scientific
certainty and predictability.

Surviving in a Disaster
By Davis Goss
Some years ago, I was sure that I had more than my fair share of
problems. I felt as though I was trapped between the sword and the wall with
no means of escape. It was at this point of desperation that I made an
exciting discovery. I discovered that there was only one prime cause
of all problems and when this root cause was understood and properly
applied, all problems, regardless of their nature or apparent severity,
would disappear like snowflakes on a hot griddle... and do so as
effortlessly as darkness disappears in the presence of light.
Over the years, I found that when I implemented the elements and
continuity of this discovery properly, my problems would take on a new
perspective and simply dissolve to the point where they became nothing more
than memories.
I had an opportunity to prove the effectiveness of this discovery when
my wife and I experienced the full fury of hurricane Katrina in New
Orleans. Like any sudden disaster, we found ourselves thrust into a
chaotic circumstance that seemed overwhelming and over which we had no
control.
We found ourselves with no electricity, no drinkable water (but plenty
of flood water!), very little edible food, no air conditioning with
temperatures in the 100 degree range with humidity to match. With our car
ruined by flood water we had no transportation. With telephones out
and cell phones inoperable, we had no means of communication. We did
have a portable radio through which we learned the scope of the
devastation. It offered a constant barrage of negative reports depicting the
dire circumstances of thousands of people and their frustrations at not
receiving any meaningful assistance. In this atmosphere, we found
ourselves isolated in a survival mode for four days. We found out later
that we were listed among the missing.
We had been through many challenging situations over our 58 years
marriage and we have always been successful in reversing them to our benefit
by utilizing the principles comprising this discovery. This situation
was no exception. We were steadfast in embracing the disciplines
demanded by the discovery's impersonal implementation.
Our situation began to change. Food and water was provided through
unexpected sources. We were offered an opportunity to vacate our home
(and everything in it)
and accept the loving hospitality of a family in Baton Rouge. We were
"found" by our family and friends. People appeared "out of the
woodwork" offering us clothing, money, shelter, transportation and
plans for evacuation out of the disaster area. We were invited to stay
with friends in Texas where all our needs were provided through no
conscious effort or strategy on our part.
Events and circumstances continued to unfold and we moved into a
perfect, fully furnished home in New England (where we were born and brought
up). Our experiences exceeded any circumstance we could possibly have
anticipated.
What proved to be, and continues to be, traumatic experiences for so
many, has proven to be the exact opposite for us. Being rooted in
universal natural laws and principles, this is a natural effect when this
discovery is allowed to enforce its own inherent integrity. To avail
ourselves of its benefits, however, we must learn to reject the negative,
disruptive events and circumstances that come to us, rise above them and
restructure our mind-set (defined by Webster as, "a mental attitude
that determines and influences events and circumstances") in concert
with natural laws and principles which are defined by Webster as "the
creative and controlling forces of the universe".
This is far from taking on an attitude of denial and burying our head
in the sand. It is not just blindly accepting an optimistic point of
view. Like any demonstrable natural law or principle, it must be based
on a sound, scientific understanding. You must understand it with the
same confident conviction with which you reject the erroneous concept
that "5" has a rightful place at the end of 2 + 2 when balancing your
checkbook.
This is a radical departure from commonly practiced problem solving
procedures and not always easy to accept with a casual perusal and
assessment of its principles.
When confronted with any adverse situation there is a natural tendency
to resist it, put up a wall and strike out against it and attack it as
though it was an enemy with which we must do battle. Too often, this
struggle produces more frustrations, anxieties and tensions than it does
solutions.
Scientific problem solving cannot be confrontational. It is
unrealistic to expect that a negatively oriented premise can produce positive,
long-lasting results. In a universe whose very existence exhibits
absolute precision, balance and perfection throughout all eternity, we have
every right to expect that our natural heritage is, likewise, one of
peace, balance and harmony and not one of chaos, conflict and bondage.
The law of "like begets like" validates this position.
We would do well to adopt a non-confrontational approach to problem
solving based on scientific principles that can assure positive results
with predictable certainty. This scientific approach is fully outlined
in my book "The Science of LIVING BETTER FOREVER". Unique in its
content and format, this book presents a no-nonsense, logical continuity
of specific natural laws and principles that, when properly
implemented, will resolve any adverse situation with scientific certainty and
predictability.
The potential import of this discovery in establishing and perpetuating
the harmonious life experiences of its adherents cannot be over
emphasized. Its principles have been proven to be effective where all others
have failed.

Article 3
A New Discovery of an Old Secret
By Davis Goss
There are specific natural laws and principles that, when properly
applied, will resolve any problem, fill any need and reveal the correct
procedures to meet any challenge and achieve any goal or objective.
Years ago I was sure that I had more than my share of problems. I felt
like I was trapped between the sword and the wall with no apparent
means of escape.
It was then that I made an exciting discovery. I discovered that THERE
IS ONLY ONE PRIMAL CAUSE OF ALL PROBLEMS. When this root cause is
known, understood and properly implemented, all problems, regardless of
their nature or apparent severity, will disappear like snowflakes on a
hot griddle and do so as effortlessly as darkness disappears in the
presence of light.
I found that with the proper application of this discovery, all my
problems began to fade away and finally disappeared. Not that I wouldn't
be faced with difficult challenges over the years (not the least of
which was my survival of hurricane Katrina in New Orleans) but all have
been harmoniously resolved and I continue to enjoy a growing continuity
of satisfying personal and professional life experiences.
As a creative consultant, I have proven the viability of this discovery
to the benefit of a widely diverse client base that included many of
the giants of American business.
This discovery is a radical departure from traditional methods in that
it is devoid of the usual academic theories, philosophical abstractions
and the personal analyses and opinions of experts. My discovery is
based solely on universal natural laws and principles that are defined by
Webster as, "the creative and controlling forces of the universe".
By their very nature and definition, these laws and principles are
irrevocable and self enforcing. This assures positive results with
predictable, scientific certainty.
Today the world is consumed by conflict, turmoil and uncertainty. Too
many innocent people are burdened with too many problems over which
they seem to have little or no control. This prevents them from enjoying
the harmonious life experiences they have a right to expect.
There are literally thousands of programs, books, lecture, seminars and
experts of all kinds offering solutions to personal, professional,
corporate and world problems. Yet in spite of all this, there are more
unsolved problems in the world today than at any other time in history.
Recent surveys indicate that the number of people suffering from
anxieties, stresses, pressures and fears resulting from this phenomenon, is
on a frightening increase world wide.
What the world needs is a new approach to problem solving that can
assure success with predictable, scientific certainty. My discovery fills
this need by disclosing natural laws and principles in a no-nonsense
continuity of facts, reason and logic. My book, "The Science of LIVING
BETTER FOREVER" is unique in its content and format and will inspire
the reader to new levels of conscious awareness, or mind-set, which
Webster says is "a fixed way of thinking that determines and
influences...(the)...events and circumstances" that comprise our life
experiences.
Adherence to these laws and principles will produce harmonious
"events and circumstances" whereas a rejection or ignorance of them
produces discordant "events and circumstances". It is the law!

Article 4
The Science of Living Better Forever
By Davis Goss
It would seem that everybody has nagging problems that they would give
anything to be relieved of. But too few know how to do it. In their
frantic search for an elusive "something" that might resolve them,
they find their efforts are less than effective and, more often than
not, produce more frustrations than solutions.
Not only are these struggles non-productive, they are completely
unnecessary. I know. I've been there.
Years ago, I was sure that I had more than my fair share of problems
and felt as though I was trapped between the sword and the wall with no
means of escape. But, gratefully, I found that there IS a way out!
I recalled that one of the things that impressed me most from my old
physics textbooks was that this universe operates in absolute harmony
with irrevocable and irreversible natural laws and principles that have
not varied throughout all time. I reasoned that because I am an integral
part of this perfect universe, there is no reason why I shouldn't be
experiencing the same predictable harmony, balance and perfection and
be free of all conflicts, problems and their resultant pressures,
anxieties and fears.
I found that Webster defines NATURAL LAWS and PRINCIPLES as, "the
creative and controlling forces of the universe" and to believe that
these laws and principles could somehow be set aside or be flawed would be
to deny their very absolute, all-inclusive, irrevocable nature. I
could interpolate this to mean that success, prosperity, freedom and a
pressure-free way of life are as natural to me as wet is to water or heat
and light are to the sun.
Simple logic compels us to conclude, then, that if problems were
supported by any irrevocable law or principle, problems would be equally
absolute and could never be resolved. We know from personal experience
that this is not the case.
From this I made an exciting discovery. I discovered that there is
only one primary cause of all problems. When this root cause is
understood and properly implemented, all problems, regardless of their nature or
apparent severity, will disappear like snowflakes on a hot griddle. I
know. I've been there.
Here was the key element missing from all traditionally accepted
self-help / personal development and problem solving techniques that are not
built on a scientific foundation. This discovery fills this void and
can make all other methodologies more effective and productive.
For more than 50 years I have field tested, fine tuned and proven the
viability of this discovery in my own personal and professional life but
also to the benefit of a widely diverse client base that has included
many of the giants of American business.
Being rooted in the very basic structure of the universe, the laws and
principles of this discovery operate with absolute unchallenged
accuracy and predictability. When these "creative and controlling forces of
the universe" are allowed to impact our affairs, the resolution of
any problem is assured.
Details of this discovery are disclosed in my book, "The Science of
LIVING BETTER FOREVER". This book is unique in its content and
format. It identifies these "natural laws and principles" in an orderly
continuity of facts, logic and reasoning. This scientific approach
leads to irrefutable conclusions that establish a firm foundation on which
to build permanent harmonious life experiences.

Article 5
IMAGINATION: New Worlds of Discovery
By Davis Goss
Until the world closed in on us and restricted our inherent freedom,
imagination and creativity were active ingredients in each one of us.
Whatever happened to our open, unfettered imagination; our capacity and
eagerness to dream dreams, to exercise visions of greatness and to
accomplish feats with complete abandon and against all odds?
Unfortunately, in our growing up process, modern day computer
dependency and high tech advancements have tended to school creativity and
imagination out of us. We have been compelled to conform to the parameters
and restrictions the world has imposed upon us. To be free of these
limitations we must get back to basics and learn to exercise our natural
capacity to invoke creative thinking. "Creative thinking" is
defined by Webster as, "the ability to be productive through imaginative
skills".
To develop these "imaginative skills", we must leave the world of
limits and restrictive parameters, reject traditional "common sense"
and deliberately break the bonds of accepted thinking. We must embark
on what will be the most exciting adventure imaginable and explore new
areas of discovery.
In this adventure, we will be completely alone. We will step out into
new territories where there are no road maps, charts or blueprints to
follow. There is nothing ahead of us but the excitement of discovering
new horizons of unlimited achievement and invoking the kind of
creativity that existed (and worked!) long before time and technology distorted
its simplicity and relevance.
"Imagination", according to Webster, is, "the act or power of
forming mental images of something not present to the senses or never
before wholly perceived". All the criteria for creativity are embodied
in this one word: IMAGINATION! What cannot be imagined?!
The range and flexibility of your imagination is virtually without
limit. It is free of all limitations and restrictions. There is only one
rule that pertains to your imagination and that rule is that there are
no rules. Your imagination is limited only by your imagination.
In your imagination you are the absolute reigning monarch. You have
absolute control over the images of your imagination. Here in your
imagination you can fry ice and dribble footballs with absolute control and
balance. Imaginative concepts do not control you; you control them.
They are forever ready and willing to obey your every command and
instruction and do so instantaneously without offering any resistance. They
initiate no action of their own but allow you to entertain the abstract
or bizarre without passing judgments or criticisms. Because like
begets like, we must be alert to entertain only those mental images that
are positive and productive. Negative concepts will produce negative
results.
Open your thought to be responsive to the new ideas and concepts as you
exercise your "power of forming mental images (ideas) of things not
present to the senses...". Miracles take place in your imagination.
No wonder Einstein said, "Imagination is more important than
knowledge"!
With the power of your imagination you are truly on the cutting edge of
real progress and the controller of destinies.
Little wonder that Napoleon said, "Imagination rules the world"!
Creative thinking, "the ability to be productive through imaginative
skills", is pivotal to the productivity and success of any endeavor.
Particularly when you realize that Webster defines "productive"
as, "the establishment of results, benefits and profits".
My book, "The Science of LIVING BETTER FOREVER", outlines the
details of his unique problem solving methods that are based solely on
scientific laws and principles.

Article 6
Take Time to Think
By Davis Goss
I recently saw a program on television wherein the participants
discussed how present day computer technology has contributed to our economy,
our well-being and our ability to communicate. They pointed out the
many ways that this technology was already obsolete and that further
refinements will impact our future in ways we dare not imagine.
This scares me.
This advancement precipitates an increasing reliance on computer skills
and "push the envelope" technology. This over-emphasis tends to
wean people away from original thinking. Over the years, I've seen
many very bright people let their computers do their thinking for them.
Without realizing it, they became the victims of somebody else's
thinking and robbed them of their individuality.
I've been a student and practitioner of creative thinking all my
life. I was a creative consultant long before the Internet was a factor.
From my admittedly bias point of view, I think the time has come to
champion a new technology. The next technological breakthrough should be
a re-discovery of creative thinking.
- The kind of individual creativity and innovative genius that built
our free enterprise system.
- The kind of uncluttered common sense creativity that is devoid of
academic "isms" and "ologies".
- The kind of creativity that existed (and worked!) long before time
and technology distorted its simplicity and relevance.
Webster defines creative thinking as "the ability to be productive
through imaginative skills". Notice he makes the point that we must be
productive. His definition of productive is "to establish results,
benefits and profits". And how does he suggest that we do this? He
says it should be "through imaginative skills".
Notice that he makes no reference to technological skills or training.
He says nothing about academic proficiency, administrative talents or
scanning the Internet. He refers to only one method: using the
imagination which he defines as "the forming of mental images (ideas) of
things not present to the senses or never before wholly perceived".
IDEAS!
As important as modern day technological tools are, it should be
realized that throughout all recorded history, nothing was ever accomplished,
no goal was ever reached, no need was ever met and no problem was ever
solved that didn't begin with an idea!
Ideas are the substance of the imagination. They are the effects of
creative thinking. When people ignore or overlook new ideas and
concepts, they risk becoming the victims of another's creative initiative
regardless of their technological competence. While any activity should
take advantage of the best technological aids available, it behooves us
to be alert to the necessity for balance and make specific, conscious
efforts to increase our imaginative skills. We should be constantly
scanning our mental horizons for opportunities for growth and advancement
and become aware of the events and circumstances that can contribute to
our productivity, defined by Webster as, "establishing results,
benefits and profits" through our "imaginative skills".
Your mind, which embodies this "thing" called "creativity", is
the source of all ideas. Your consciousness is the best computer ever
devised. However mind-boggling the next generation of computers may
be, that master computer between your ears is the only "mechanism"
that can generate new, original ideas and be responsive to the flow of
mental images of the imagination.
These images are a glimpse into the future. It is vision which is
defined by Webster as "the act or power of perceiving mental images
(ideas) in the imagination". Jonathan Swift noted that "vision is the
art of seeing the invisible". Helen Keller was quoted as having said,
"Worse than being blind, is to have no vision".
Remember, the computer and all its associated technologies are merely
the outward manifestation of someone's creative thinking. Remember
too, that an effect cannot, and never will, initiate any action of its
own. It must forever be subservient to its primal cause and source:
creative thinking.
It was Victor Hugo who reminded us that "there is nothing more
powerful than the right idea whose time has come". That time is NOW!
Take time to marvel at the computer with all its wonder, with all its
contributing technologies and its capacity to make such a significant
contribution to our way of life. But always reserve a quiet place in
your mind where you can retire from the pressures imposed by the "real
world" and take time to THINK.
My book, "The Science of LIVING BETTER FOREVER", outlines the
details of his unique problem solving techniques based solely on the logical
continuity of natural laws and principles which are defined by Webster
as, "the creative and controlling forces of the universe".

Article 7
The One Cause of All Problems
By Davis Goss
Our life experiences are comprised of a continuity of events and
circumstances. Sometimes these are joyous, productive and free and at other
times they are chaotic, distressful and take on the identity of all
manner of problems.
We live in a world of opposites. We have up and down, short and tall,
failure and success, profits and losses, assets and liabilities,
freedom and bondage, etc., etc., etc. I don't believe you can think of any
situation that does not have an implied opposite. We live in a world
of duality where every position is challenged by some implied opposite.
Webster defines opposites as "elements that are so far apart and
diverse as to be totally irreconcilable".
In violation of this definition it is our attempt to justify these
opposites that are the root cause of all problems. Simple logic, then,
forces the conclusion that if we could somehow prevent this law from
operating in our individual experiences, we could exercise our dominion over
these nagging problems and enjoy more harmonious life experiences.
We can make this more graphic by using the example of positive and
negative. Positives and negatives fit all the criteria of being opposites.
See how Webster puts it:
NEGATIVE: "something that is the opposite or negation of
something". Note that the negative is not a something in and of itself. Its
very claim to existence is completely dependent on there being a positive
"something" to be negative about.
POSITIVE: "something that is real, not speculative, not fictitious
and logically affirmative; that which has or expresses actual
existence". In resolving life's problems, then, we must make this separation.
The positive answer already exists in the infinitude of your
conscious awareness and we access this answer by consciously rejecting the
so-called problem for the nothingness it is and maintaining a positive,
expectant mental environment from which the answers will be revealed to
us.
I know how impractically simplistic this approach seems but its
rationale and logical continuity of scientific laws, principles and facts is
fully outlined in my book, "The Science of LIVING BETTER FOREVER".
Unique in its content and format, this book will give you all the tools
you will ever need with which to build harmonious life experiences.

Article 8
Success, Prosperity and Freedom: GUARANTEED!
By Davis Goss
Imagine the increased production, freedom and general well-being you
would experience if all your problems were to suddenly disappear and be
turned into benefits and profits. It can be done. It's all in
knowing how.
First, let's agree that nobody needs to endure the pressures imposed
by these things we call "problems". Second, problems are no more
natural to man than darkness is to light. Everyone has the right to be
free. And freedom, in the final analysis, is knowing how to solve
problems. Problems are like waves on the seashore. We are not responsible
for the waves that come to us but we can learn how to meet them, remain
in control and avoid being swamped by them.
What must we do in order to control and gain dominion over these tough
challenges that scream at us for attention? We must realize and accept
the fact that in spite of what things seem to be, we all live and
operate in a world that's governed and maintained by specific
irreversible natural laws and principles that by their very nature and definition
cannot contain any negative, destructive elements. If this were the
case, the universe would have self-destructed eons ago. For all its
power, it has no power to destroy itself.
These natural laws and principles are omnipresent and fixed throughout
all time. They cannot be successfully challenged, altered or
circumvented. In fact, Webster defines natural laws and principles as "the
creative and controlling forces of the universe". We don't make
these laws but when we can understand them, we can use them. And if we use
them correctly, positive results are assured with predictable
certainty.
A perfect example of this is embodied in the laws governing
mathematics. When you are faced with a problem in mathematics, such as balancing
your checkbook, you know exactly what to do. You can balance your
checkbook with absolute surety and confidence because you understand,
accept and trust the irrevocable laws and principles that maintain the
integrity of mathematics. If your figures do not balance, you know that it
is because you have failed to use the laws properly and not because
they are variable and have somehow been set aside and cancelled by some
unknown outside influence.
This procedure is applicable when working with any problem with which
you will ever be faced. You can experience balance and oneness when you
understand that any problem is simply an implied "something" that
stands between you and the fulfillment of your goal or objective which,
in fact, already exists in the archives of the universe.
Your goal or objective is positive and real. The problem is negative
and unreal. They are opposites and, according to Webster, opposites are
totally and completely irreconcilable. One cannot, by law, be
justified to the other.
That which is negative is, by definition, "the opposite or negation
of something". That "something" is your positive objective which
is, according to Webster, "that which is real and has actual
existence". Any problem, then, is simply a negation or negative statement
about the objective or solution you are seeking. It is not a condition
you need to confront. Note this axiom:
A negation cannot exist alone. A negative anything is totally
dependent upon there being a positive something to be negative about.
That problem you have been dealing with is not a "something"; it is
really a "no-thing".
Treat it accordingly by focusing your full attention on your positive
goal or objective even though the answer may not be immediately
apparent. Ideas will begin to flow and you will get a sense of how Victor Hugo
must have felt when he recognized that "there is nothing more
powerful than the right idea whose time has come". You have just as much
right and authority (and obligation!) to reject the conditions of any
problem as you have to reject the suggestion that "5" belongs at the
end of 2 + 2.
These universal natural laws and principles are established, revealed
and invariable. The only variable is the degree to which you are able
to accept, trust and practice them. When you consciously and
consistently use them correctly you will experience their effects: success,
prosperity and freedom. Guaranteed. It is the LAW!
Complete details are outlined in my book, "The Science of Living

Take the Problem Out of Problem Solving
By Davis Goss
There seems to be no shortage of problems in the world and we each seem
to have more than our fair share of them. To be free of the pressures
imposed by these problems is a worthy objective for everyone.
At one time or another, you have probably let your thought wander and
contemplated what your life experiences would be like if all your
problems could disappear like snowflakes on a hot griddle. If your previous
efforts to resolve them have been less than satisfactory, let me
suggest that you consider the following three principles I have found to be
predictably reliable when they become an integral part of your mind-set.
Webster defines mind-set as "a mental attitude that can influence
and determine events and circumstance; a fixed way of thinking".
These principles, or axioms, are the very essence of simplicity and
logic. In fact, they are so simple and obvious that you might be tempted
to reject them at first. But when you really take time to think about
them you'll find their effectiveness will be directly proportionate
to your understanding and faithful application of them to your
particular situation.
AXIOM 1
A problem is a problem only as long as you
do not know the answer.
This may sound like an over simplification but take time to think about
it. What is a problem to you may or may not be a problem to me or
anyone else. It is completely subjective. It is yours alone to endure or
to resolve.
We might paraphrase this axiom by saying that "darkness is darkness
only so long as you don't turn on the light". When the light
floods the room, there is no darkness. Similarly, when the solution to your
problem or the answer to your question is seen, the problem
disappears. One absolutely excludes, negates and obliterates the other. You
cannot experience them both at the same time. They are opposites and
opposites cannot mix or commingle. It is the law!
This being true, logic demands that we accept the second axiom.
AXIOM 2
A problem is not a condition that needs to be overcome,
it is simply the absence of the right idea, solution or answer.
The problem must be seen as not really being a "something" that you
must work over. It is the opposite or negation of the answer or
solution you are seeking. It is a negative statement of your positive
objective. It is a void than needs to be filled. Can you see, then, that
is really a no-thing and not an adversary with which we must confront a
go out and do battle?
We must know that that "monster" you are trying so hard to conquer
is not a monster at al. It is simply the absence of the right idea.
And because you can never be aware of a problem except in your own mind
or thought, we must logically conclude that the right idea or solution
is also there within your own mind or thought and it is there, and only
there, that it can be recognized and accepted.
Think about this: Your awareness of any problem is really self-evident
proof that its answer or solution is, by reversal, already available to
you. How do you invoke this proof? By applying the third axiom:
AXIOM 3
To dissolve a problem we must look away from it and focus our
attention only on that which we are trying to achieve...
the goal or objective.
You must discipline your thinking and concentrate only on your goal or
objective and do so with the absolute exclusion and rejection of any
and all elements embodied in the problem's definition. We must learn
to see THROUGH problems rather than trying to understand them and focus
on developing strategies that might beat them down.
Just as you can never understand why 2 + 2 = 5, you can never
understand any problem because it really isn't a "something" to
understand. It is the absence of something; it is a NO-thing.
Remember, as long as the problem is the focus of your attention it will
never be fully resolved. Concentrate on keeping your thought open and
riveted on the excitement of achieving your objective. Envision
yourself as already enjoying the fulfillment of your achieved objective. By
so doing, you will open the flow of new ideas and concepts that will
dissolve, or replace, the problem. Your problems will simply disappear.
It is the law!
Where did the problem go? It went to the same place the darkness went
when you turned
on the light. It never was a "something" in the first place.
I have had more than 50 years experience as a creative consultant with
particular expertise in problem solving. In my book, "The Science of
Living Better Forever", I outline my unique problem solving methods
which are based solely on proven scientific laws and principles.

Article 10
Thinkers are Achievers
By Davis Goss
It has been truly said, and history confirms, that the growth of the
United States is due more to independent thinkers than to scholars and
statesmen. We seldom consciously think about it, but we all share that
unique capacity to THINK and are born with a potential of achievement
and greatness that exceeds our wildest imagination.
We can all identify with the French philosopher Rene Descartes who as
far back as the 15th century, made a great discovery and announced to
the world "cogito ergo sum"... "I think, therefore, I am". We,
too, upon awakening in the morning, are aware of the irrefutable fact
that we are each an individual thinking entity. It is axiomatic that as
conscious thinking individuals we have the capacity to control and
change our experiences simply by making disciplined choices as to what we
think and how we think.
All growth, achievement, prosperity and freedom are predicated more on
creative thinking than on any other cause.
Creative thinking is defined by Webster as, "the ability to be
productive through imaginative skills". And he defines imagination as,
"the forming of mental images or ideas". Ideas are an omnipresent
component of the thinking process. Indeed, thinking is comprised of ideas
("mental images in thought" [Webster]). Ideas are not something
that exists somewhere external to our thinking; they are already
resident in the mind, or consciousness, of each individual. We each have an
unlimited inventory of ideas but we often find it impossible to find
just the right idea when we need it.
How, then, does one access the flow of ideas in order that we may
achieve our heritage of success, prosperity and freedom to which we all
aspire?
First, let's realize that this creative mental phenomenon functions
separate and apart from the conscious reasoning process. It is the
opening of thought to a dimension of awareness that involves perceptive
capacities and an intuitive sense that cannot be measured or predicted.
It is known and recognized only by its effects.
Second, creativity is an approach or direction toward its subject that
departs from routines and preconceived hypotheses and thereby breaks
the barriers and generally accepted norms that might be held by those of
more disciplined training. Creative thinking is based on the
unlimited, unconfined, abstract, undisciplined and unencumbered.
Third, in order that one develop this creative capacity one must,
paradoxically, be aware of certain disciplines. These disciplines, however,
are not rules of limitation or confining parameters. Rather, they are
conditions to be alert to that would tend to restrict the flow of
ideas.
Look at it this way. A soft rubber ball naturally assumes its round
shape as a ball. If you were to distort your ball by winding it with
elastic bands, you would have a grotesque, distorted shape that's all
bound up and restricted because of the unnatural limits imposed on it by
the elastics. It wouldn't roll like a ball. It wouldn't bounce
like a ball. It would no longer resemble a ball.
But if you were to remove the restrictive elastics, the ball would
resume its natural shape as a ball.
Note this: You do not have to do anything to the ball to make it take
its natural shape because that is the natural characteristic of the
ball. All you have to do to induce this natural condition is to remove
the restrictive barriers that have prevented it from appearing to be what
it really is.
Our thought is much the same. It is the acceptance of restricting,
limiting thoughts that prevents our being consciously aware of the ideas
of which it is comprised. It's our limited thinking, our blind
acceptance of preconceived prejudices that restricts the flow of new ideas
and concepts. Therefore, it is the opening of thought and a quiet mental
listening attitude that brings them forth. These ideas, remember, are
always present in our minds and are simply waiting for our recognition
of them. This brings forth new concepts and solutions to our problems
and opens the way to new growth opportunities and achievement.
Provide the proper mental environment. Take time to think. Be quiet
and LISTEN.
Details of this revealing perspective are outlined in my book, "The
Science of LIVING BETTER FOREVER". Unique in its content and format,
this book presents an no-nonsense, direct continuity of proven natural
laws and principles that, when properly applied, assures positive
results with predictable certainty.

How to Remove Obstacles to Growth and Progress
By Davis Goss
Any success oriented person with an eye to the future is always alert
to exploring those methods and procedures that others have proven to be
successful. My professional experiences have shown me that there is
only one thing that prevents us from realizing new profits and more
positive personal and professional growth experiences is some barrier or
obstacle that seems to exist between where we are now and where we would
like to be.
People experience resistance to growth because they have been taught
that they are the victims of negative situations that have been imposed
upon them from some outside situation over which they have no control.
This is where the struggle begins. They instinctively feel compelled
to confront the situation with sufficient force to beat it into
submission. This confrontational approach is the cause of all stress,
pressure, anxiety and fear.
It is a self-evident fact that in a universe that functions in perfect
balance and harmony, without any help from you and me, there are
universal laws and principles that maintain and support their irrevocable
continuity and perpetuity. Through my reasoning process, I can accurately
conclude that I am an integral element in this system and partake of
its perfection and non-confrontational, productive existence. If I am
not consciously experiencing this right now, it's my own fault.
The key to resolving any negative, obstructive situation is not buried
in some long lost archive. It is found in our own dictionary. It's
found in Webster's definition of natural laws and principles which he
states very simply as "the creative and controlling forces of the
universe". By definition, these natural laws and principles cannot be
negative, destructive or be flawed in any way. They are absolute,
irrevocable and all-inclusive and are no more subject to debate, challenge,
alteration or circumvention than the suggestion that "5" has a
rightful place at the end of 2 + 2.
The only action worthy of our attention when confronted with a problem,
obstacle or barrier of any kind is to recognize that the harmony or
solution is already embodied in some natural law or principle. And if we
will keep our thought open and receptive to these laws in operation,
and away from the problem's destructive negativism, we will be letting
these "creative and controlling forces of the universe" enforce
their own nature and we will be a witness to our problem's
disappearance.
Think about this. Realize that the only thing that will solve your
problems, remove that "glitch" in your world and allow you to break
free of any restrictions that may inhibit your business or personal and
professional growth, is by allowing natural laws and principles to guide
and govern your actions and mind-set. NOT money. NOT technology. NOT
academic achievement. NOT personal opinions. NOT intellectual theories
or philosophical abstractions. The only thing you can do is to release
your own personal feelings and opinions, keep your mental focus on the
irreversible operation of "the creative forces of the universe" and
allow this mindset to manifest in improved events and circumstances
that define your life experiences.

Article 12
How to Win at the Job Hunting Game
By Davis Goss
When I got over the initial shock of being urged to "seek alternative
employment", I found that I was just another one of the pack
following the same traditional job-hunting procedures as everyone else.
I wrote resumes, mailed them to the same prospects that everyone else
was sending theirs to and found little comfort knowing that mine was
included in a pile that was growing bigger every day.
To be successful amid all this competition would be tantamount to
winning the lottery! It sure looked like the odds were stacked against me;
especially after enduring the long non-event waiting periods that never
ended. I got the same frustrating non-results and suffered the same
heartaches, delays and disappointments as did most all the other
"sheep".
This didn't seem right!
I began to realize that I was being victimized by a "me too"
situation. I was awakened to the fact that I was offering essentially the
same thing the in same way at the same time to the same people. My
situation became dependent upon someone else in a system over which I had no
control. I had yielded the control of my future to a system that made
me an impersonal pawn in a game that didn't care whether I won or
not.
This was unacceptable!
I did some deep soul searching. I got "me" out of the way and took
a cold, hard, impersonal look at the facts. I was shocked at what I
found. It was this:
EVERYBODY IS TRYING TO GET A JOB!
That didn't sound shocking on the surface, but then it hit me: All
these "sheep", me included, are out there focusing on trying to get
a job! GET: 1) a highly competitive "something" that was in short
supply, 2) that everybody else was competing to get and 3) a
"something" that most prospects probably didn't even have to give.
I couldn't afford to play this game! I had to start working. I'm
darn good at what I do. I deserve better than this. There MUST be a
better way.
Reason and logic forced me to accept the conclusion that if I wanted to
break away from this seemingly dead end system I had to make some
changes. I had to break the pattern of sameness that plagued everyone
else. If I was going to change a procedure that doesn't work, I would
have to reverse it and implement a procedure that does work. But how?
First, I must realize that, contrary to what many seem to think, a
prospect/business does not exist solely for the purpose of supplying jobs.
They are in business to make a profit by providing a product or
service to its customers in their particular market. Whether I was looking
for employment, wanting to progress in my present job or set a goal to
accept new challenges in a new relationship, I better stop trying to
GET something and put myself in a position where I could reverse things
and GIVE something.
I must GIVE something to the prospective employer that he needed!
Needs! As I thought about it I realize that my needs would be met only
when I met the needs of others.
So I decided to bypass the system and re-focus my efforts from what I
wanted and needed to finding out what my prospects needed. How could
they increase their productivity and profits? How could they increase
sales? What could they do to become a more dominant factor in their
market? Etc., etc.
I did some homework. I did a lot of research, learned all I could
about my prospect's situation and worked out a game plan. I presented my
plan to the appropriate department heads and decision makers of
businesses in my area. I was able to show my prospects how they could
accomplish their objectives and why they needed me, my talents, my experience
and expertise to make the plan work.
This simple procedure resulted in more than one opportunity. In my
particular case, I took on more than one "job" and was able to
contribute to lots of businesses. I've received hundred of"jobs" this
way. In fact, without realizing it, I found that I had become a
creative consultant and professional problem solver to the business community.
That was more than 50 years ago. Some things don't change and these
procedures work just as well today as well as they ever did. The basic
axiom:
"Find a need and fill it" is still relevant. "You fill your own
needs by filling the needs of others" has been proven throughout all
recorded history.
This cannot be done if you are satisfied to just run with the pack,
passively wait in the employment line and make your success dependent upon
the mathematical statistics inherent in traditional job hunting
routines. To assure your success, you must depart from the pack and offer
your prospect something he really needs and prove to him that you are the
one best qualified to give it to him.
You might also find it helpful to read my book, "The Science of
LIVING BETTER FOREVER" It will give you a unique, proven insight that can
only inure to your benefit.
